Chrisinda Hunter is a Temporary Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Chrisinda completed her Master of Science in Family Therapy from Friends University in 2019. During her time at Friends, she provided therapy for individuals, couples, and families ranging from 4 to 80 years of age at First United Methodist Church in downtown Wichita. Chrisinda also facilitated workshops and educational groups for families and children on the topics of communication, parenting, foster care, brain development, and emotional regulation.
With compassion and integrity, Chrisinda seeks to be client-centered and brain-based in her approach to walk with her clients to reach their desired goals. She is committed to working with children and adolescents towards empowerment and healthy autonomy in their families and communities. She uses play therapy with both children and families to improve communication, maladaptive behaviors, and overall family functioning.
Chrisinda is trained in Sandtray and Child Play Therapy methods. She is also a certified Level 1 Gottman Method Facilitator for couples and families. Chrisinda utilizes an integrated approach when treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, family conflict and separation, adolescent behaviors, defiance struggles, self-harm and suicidal ideation, life transitions and stress management.
